At Kids at Play Family Center, we believe in the power of community and collaboration to create enriching educational experiences. Our Homeschool Co-op is a space where families come together to plan, implement, and support each child’s unique learning journey. With the guidance and assistance of our staff, parents and caregivers can work collaboratively to create meaningful lessons, projects, and activities for their children.

Homeschooling doesn’t have to be a solo journey. Our co-op provides a community-driven environment where families can:

• Share responsibilities in creating and implementing educational plans.
• Access support and resources to enhance learning experiences.
• Build friendships and foster connections with other homeschooling families.
• Receive childcare support for younger siblings while working with homeschoolers.

Together, we create a space where parents, caregivers, and children collaborate, grow, and thrive.

1. Collaborative Learning Opportunities
   
   • Parents and caregivers take the lead in planning and teaching lessons, supported by our knowledgeable staff who assist with curriculum ideas and educational resources.
   • Group learning sessions for hands-on projects, creative arts, and more.

1. Childcare for Younger Siblings
   
   • Families with younger children can take advantage of 2.5 hours of on-site childcare, allowing parents or caregivers to focus on working with their homeschoolers. Excluding Friday's.
   • Parents and caregivers must remain on-site while their younger children are in our care.

1. Supportive Environment for Parents
   
   • Workshops and resources to help parents design lesson plans, projects, and activities.
   • Assistance from our staff in organizing schedules, sharing materials, and finding creative solutions for learning challenges.

   • Fun and engaging activities such as arts and crafts, team-building games, and nature exploration.
   • Social opportunities through group projects, field trips, and special events.

   • Family open house, community open house, holiday celebrations, and talent showcases.
   • Community service projects that encourage teamwork and empathy.

Our homeschool co-op welcomes families with children ages 3-12. Whether you’re a seasoned homeschooler or just starting, our community is here to support you every step of the way.

   • Need time to focus on your homeschooler? Our 2.5-hour childcare option for younger siblings provides peace of mind so you can concentrate on teaching and planning.

   • Choose how and when to participate based on your family’s schedule and needs.

Q: Do I need to be a certified teacher to join?
A: Absolutely not! Our co-op is designed for parents and caregivers of all backgrounds. If you have a passion for supporting your child’s education, you’re welcome here.

Q: Will your staff teach my child?
A: Our staff provides support and resources, but parents and caregivers are the primary educators in the co-op. Staff members may assist with lesson planning, organizing materials, and facilitating activities.

Q: Can I leave while my younger children are in childcare?
A: No, parents and caregivers must remain on-site while utilizing the childcare option.

Q: What if I don’t know how to create lesson plans?
A: Our staff is here to help! We’ll guide you through the process, provide resources, and share ideas to make planning easy and enjoyable.

2. Attend an Open House
   Meet other families, tour our space, and learn more about how our co-op operates.
3. Begin Your Journey
   Once you’ve joined, collaborate with other families and our staff to create a meaningful homeschooling experience.

Joining the Kids at Play Family Center Homeschool Co-op is easy and affordable!

  Families can utilize the homeschool co-op option anytime within these hours.

For families with younger children:

• Childcare is available on a 2.5-hour basis for parents needing focused time to work with their homeschoolers excluding Friday's.
• Reservations are required for childcare to ensure a spot is available.
